Guess what? Last Friday night, I dined at a restaurant that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban dined at (according to google!). Busshari Japanese Restaurant is located in the bustling heart of Potts Point. A walk around the corner and you’re in the heart of Kings Cross, where you will find a whole melting pot of Sydney’s best – the socialites, celebrities, sleeze balls, hoochies and hobos.. very nice! I suggest always walking in twos (as mum would say), just to be on the safe side!

Carrie and I decided to try out this Japanese restaurant as it had been highly recommended by one of her mates. It’s very popular, so you should try to make a booking. The decor is dark and moody, there’s high wooden tables and chairs and a long counter top. Tonight, we were seated on the counter, which was very lovely – it felt very New York! They also had a row of huge white light globes hanging above the counter – very pretty and chic.
All the food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The soft shell crab in the spider roll was cooked perfectly – just the right amount of softness and crispness. The eggplant was very hot when it arrived, it was beautifully presented and tasted equally as good – lucky we were sharing as it was quite big! And finally, the soba & somen noodles! A completely new experience for me. The bowls of cold soup came out first, then our platter of soba and somen noodles came out. The two varieties of noodles along with a small bowl of shittake mushrooms and prawns rested on a bamboo mat, which was placed above a huge chunk of ice. It certainly looked interesting and we were a bit puzzled as to how exactly we were supposed to tackle this dish. So we asked the waitress for a little assistance and she kindly explained that you simply take the noodles and dip it in your bowl of soup and then enjoy. And enjoy we did
Overall:
A trendy Japanese restaurant serving up quality food with very friendly staff. A little bit pricier than most of the Japanese Restaurants you’d find in the City or in Chinatown, but definitely worth a try. Besides, Nicky & Keith went there!
